Welcome

Life can be tough and overwhelming at times and we can get downtrodden and exhausted by it all.

Since the pandemic there are so very many more pressures and stresses, whether they be emotional, practical or financial. You may be spending more time with family which causes friction or you may be struggling having to spend so much time on your own. Everyone needs help now and then and it can feel really scary to ask for it, but the alternative is to remain isolated and alone. Speaking to a therapist can be an opportunity to clear your mind, alleviate your anxiety and find a way forward. It gives you the chance to talk about things that have been bottled up which family or friends may find difficult to hear.

Psychotherapy is often called a 'talking therapy', and as a psychotherapeutic counsellor I help clients explore and express their thought processes, feelings and behaviour. Sessions with clients can cover a range of issues, including:

  • feeling low, depressed and without motivation

  • feeling very anxious and worried

  • suffering from/with panic attacks

  • stress at work or at home

  • struggling to manage your anger

  • difficulty with decision making

  • the loss of a loved one

  • a wish to explore yourself further

  • lack of confidence and self-esteem

  • getting used to big changes in life

  • mild eating disorders

During sessions I help clients understand their inner conflicts and find new ways to alleviate and deal with distress. I also support clients make positive changes to the way they think and behave. Depending on their circumstances, I may see clients over a few sessions or for a longer period of two or three years.
